MTC Members Excel at HMMT November

This month, MTC members Kaylyn and Prince joined the Leading Aces Academy (LAA) team at the renowned Harvard-MIT Mathematics November Tournament (HMMT). Held biannually, HMMT is an international epicenter for prodigious high schoolers.

HMMT consists of multiple rounds, including two individual rounds, a team round, and a fast-paced guts round that requires quick thinking and effective collaboration. They spent months preparing for this by training with past contest problems and attending weekly practice sessions. 

Competing against over 120 top teams from all over the globe, they impressively placed in the top 10 teams overall. Notably, they placed in the top 5 teams in the Guts round, and Prince placed 3rd in the overall individual rankings.
All in all, immense congratulations are due to Kaylyn and Prince for their accomplishments with LAA at HMMT. We look forward to witnessing their bright futures, and what the other members will accomplish at HMMT February!

Summer Math Camps 

This summer, six Math Together Canada students took part in some of the most selective and celebrated math programs around the world, including the Ross Mathematics Program, Stanford SUMaC, Canada's IMO Summer Training Camp, Yau Mathcamp, G2 Research Camp, Canada Math Camp, Canada/USA Mathcamp, and the International Math Summer Camp.

Club's Epic Math-Off Recap  
We Pi (π)oneer Charity Math Contest

We're excited to create an event to celebrate the beauty of math and meet math champions to share their learning experience.

We secured sponsorships from Smile Dentist, Angle Financial Groups, TTmath, Pizza Pizza, and Batner Bookstore, who generously provided lunch and prizes.

This is also a fundraising event to support SickKids Hospital with continuous breakthrough research. Over the past three contests, the peers have raised a total of $7110 in donations.

Thursday April 10, 2025 - Canadian Team Mathematics Contest (CTMC)

Thanks to the help of MTC volunteers, CTMC online was a great success!

With 20 students and 3 teams, each person collaborated to make the day meaningful. Throughout the rounds, team friendships were made while everyone discussed and helped each other with difficult math problems.

On March 23, 2025, Math Together Canada volunteers ensured 80 students successfully participated in the Math Kangaroo competition.

They organized the logistics, ran the check-in efficiently, and proctored the exam to make sure it was fair for all.  
After the competition, volunteers interacted with students, answering questions and helping them deepen their mathematical understanding.
